Automation conform with Aux tracks?

Hello, I am having an issue when trying to conform Aux tracks with plugin automation (reverbs, Speakerphone, EQs, etc) - unless I manually open every automation lane and select them all, nothing will copy. Is there a way to force Matchbox to use the “Copy Special / All Automation” command during a conform? It’s quite a lot of extra work otherwise. I don’t seem to have this issue with normal audio tracks, even when they don’t have any clips, but the aux busses have been a real problem.

I am running PT Ultimate 2024.10.2 and Matchbox v1.6.0, with macOS 12.7.6 on a 2013 12-core Intel Mac Pro.

Thanks!

OK so if you only have aux tracks selected, Pro Tools will only copy whichever lane is showing.
If you include even just 1 audio track (in normal view) in the selection, it will copy all data on all selected tracks.

Interesting, ok! At some point over the past year I had stopped including the aux tracks in with the rest of the session during a conform because it seemed like that was causing issues, but I guess it was only the folder tracks that can be a problem. I just tested with my busses and a blank audio track and everything seems to be working again, thanks!

Folder tracks copy everything within if you operate just on the folder.
But… at time of writing there is STILL a bug in Pro Tools where copy/paste on a closed folder track can cause a crash. So till they fix that you cannot reconform on closed folders

Good to know, don’t think I’ve had a crash on the closed folders before but I definitely don’t always want to conform every track within, thats why I’d started dealing with them separately. I use a lot of routing folders to contain various subgroups, just takes a little extra attention to make sure everything goes smoothly

I’ve not tried it personally, but there’s a method where you use instrument tracks instead of aux tracks to host returns. The benefit is that you can make clip groups which are copy/paste-abe as a way of moving settings around the session.
