Matchbox V1 Reporting incorrect session timecode

MB V1.6.0

Create Track Shot in DAW using selected video files

Alert: Bogus Session Framerate, we couldn’t figure out your session framerate

Checked PT session and MB preferences and framerate is set to 25

Analysed the MP4 video file and it too is 25 frames

Running ProTools 2025.12.2 on Windows 11

No issues with DNX files so suspect MP4 maybe the issue.

Can you confirm?

@Dubbingmixer solved this already and I believe it was a windows 11 ‘administrator’ issue. Pro Tools running as Admin… or something… ?

Same issue here. Completely stuck with this, checked and everything is correctly set to 24fps. SoundFlow is turned off.

Running Pro Tools 2025.12.0 on Sequoia 15.7.2.

It was operating fine for this exact task on the same job a couple of days ago.

Matchbox 1?
There are lots of little changes in Pro Tools which can break that helper plugin interaction with Pro Tools.

check that you dont have some custom keyboard shortcut or Soundflow shortcut hijacking key commands which Matchbox needs.

Check that the helper plugin isn’t set to “Use In Cliplist” - it’s needs to be “playlist”.

Also, here’s another thread where all the usual cases are described:

1	turn off iCloud Documents folder.
2	delete all the System Prefs->Security entries for Matchbox and reopen.
3	Do the same for Pro Tools. (it needs access to all Files and Folders)
4	turn off any custom keyboard shortcuts you have set in Pro Tools
5	try English keyboard layout
6	Make sure the Helper plugin is open and set to “Use in Playlist” (Not “clip list”)
7	make sure Pro Tools is set to use the single-key shortcuts (a…z button near top right)
8	disable any macro apps that might be stealing keystrokes
9	Try with/without the “Pro Tools Scripting” option in Matchbox prefs.
