Method for replicating the Side Percentage knob in Protools panner

Hello,

I love your Spanner plug-in, and prefer using it over the stock PT surround panner. I’ve recently found myself wanting to replicate the behavior of the “side percentage” knob in the PT panner. I am mixing in Atmos, and would like to pan the L and R front channels of a 5.1 audio track off the screen and into the room, but I don’t want sound coming directly from the side speakers, but rather from the front and rear speakers only.

Is there a way to acheive this in Spanner? Does this even make sense, or am I going about this the wrong way? I’d appreciate your thoughts, thank you!

In Spanner we treat the sides as centers - so the C% parameter applies to the C channel, as well as the Lss and Rss. So you can achieve what you want by reducing the C%.

Thanks for your reply, that makes a lot of sense to me. Cheers!
