Was working fine a week or so ago, now the selector moves across the clip group but no cut is made. No new keyboard shortcuts added, tried API/non-API, untick & retick in system prefs accessibility, restarted, reinstalled.

That’s Matchbox 1 in a newer version of Pro Tools, so the Pro Tools Scripting API wont be used at all.
What I suspect is happening is that you have the a..z button not checked in pro tools (single key shortcuts) so the X button is not cutting the clip group.
or… you have some other custom key command or macro app (sound flow?) interfering with Matchbox typing key commands.
Also, that system prefs thing sometimes needs to be actually deleted before opening matchbox to force it to get fresh permission.
All of this is solved in Matchbox 2 of course so I definitely recommend that upgrade whenever you get a chance.
